Letter to parents - 16 January 2026

Our Year 13 students are currently working hard as we move towards their mock examinations, scheduled to take place after February half-term. In advance of this, we would like to invite Year 13 students and their parents/carers to join us for our Year 13 Consultation Evening. This will take place between 4:00pm -7:00pm on Monday 2 February 2026, and will be a face-to-face event held within the halls of the main academy.
We strongly advise all students and their parents/carers to attend this evening, so that current progress and strategies for improvement can be discussed with individual subject teachers. Appointment bookings for the evening can be made via the My Child at School (MCAS) app. If you have not yet activated your MCAS account, please follow the link below that will take you directly to a reset password option you can click and activate.
Once on the app, you will be able to select your own appointment times with teachers. The booking window is now open and will close at 12:00pm on Friday 30 January.
Should you have any difficulties in making appointments via this system, please contact the academy on 01472 500505, and ask to speak to a member of the Sixth Form Leadership Team.
As part of this evening, we have also arranged a talk on Student Finance, which will be led by a colleague from the University of Hull. This will take place in our Lecture Theatre between 6:30pm - 7:00pm. The talk is aimed at providing parents/carers with information on the application process for Student Finance, in advance of the application window for this opening. There is no need to book to attend this talk, but please schedule your appointments around the timing of the talk.
We would also like to remind you that as part of our support for Year 13 students, on Wednesday this week, a representative from The Elephant Group will be visiting Sixth Form to deliver a ‘Meta Method’ session on revision strategies, to help students prepare for their examinations. This takes place between 2:00pm - 3:00pm in the academy Lecture Theatre, and all students are expected to attend.
