A visit to the Humberside Higher Education Exhibition, organised by UCAS, opened the eyes of Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College students to life at university and the myriad options available to them.

The exhibition took place at Hull University with UCAS experts, university and college representatives, and industry professionals all available to talk to students.

The Year 12 students were pre-booked into a conference-style exhibition of university stalls, at which they could explore options and discuss financing and entry requirements.

Students were also given the opportunity to get a feel for university life with time to attend specialist seminars, explore the campus and enjoy a free lunch at many of the cafes and restaurants on site.

Year 12 student Ryan Brown said: "It was a great opportunity to speak to a range of universities in one place. I enjoyed the atmosphere at Hull University, it seems a great place to study."

Mia McGregor said: "The real value of the day for me was speaking to the universities about their approaches to teaching their courses. My chosen pathway is Law, and it was a surprise to learn how many different routes there are towards a Law Degree."
