Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College A Level student and talented Cricketer Harry Costello, Year 13.
Two Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College students are excelling at sport in their chosen fields.
Year 12 Fencer Will Lonsdale already has an impressive career history having been selected for the British Senior Team at the age of 16. He has won Bronze and Silver medals at both Budapest and the Under-17 Team Internationals.
Will is now 2nd in the British under-20 rankings and this year he fenced at the under-20 World and European Championships where he took 23rd place at the European Championships and 19th place in the under-20 World Cup.
Will said: "Competitive fencing has allowed me to visit many interesting places so far, either for training or to take part in competitions. These include Sochi, Russia (competition); Italy (competition); France (competition); Poland (competition and training camp); Hungary (competition); the Netherlands (training camp) and Germany. I am very lucky."
Year 13 cricketer Harry Costello has an equally impressive record in his sport. This year he played for Lincoln Under-17s and was awarded both Batsman and Bowler of The Year trophies.
He took five wickets against Northumberland County in the summer and was also awarded Cleethorpes Fielder of The Year.
"It is great being able to play a sport I enjoy at this level and I am very grateful for the opportunities it affords me," he said.
Richard Foster, Deputy Head of Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College, said: "These two students work very hard in both their sports and their academic work as they head towards their A Level examinations, and we are very proud that they are so committed to achieving well in all areas of their lives. To compete at this level in any sport is a fantastic achievement."
