Dear Parent/Carer

Re: Free School Meals and the DfE Summer Food Fund

I hope that you and your family are well at this difficult time. I am writing to you to give you some information about the Government's Covid Summer Food Fund.

As you may be aware, the Government has released guidance on the Covid Summer Food Fund where vouchers of £90 per child are available to cover the six-week holiday period for those in receipt of Free School Meals.

For students in Years 7 to 13 who are already eligible for free school meals, the current provision will continue until the end of this term. As previously, parents of students eligible for free school meals, can collect these from Café Aspens via the Sixth Form College entrance, on Monday only. These packs will be available from the Academy between 10:00am and 11:00am. This current provision will continue until Friday 17 July 2020. The last free school meal hamper of the term will be provided by the Academy on Monday 13 July 2020.

If your child is already eligible for free school meals, you will be entitled to a Summer Food Fund voucher of £90 per eligible child to cover the summer holiday period. These are usually in the form of E-codes which can be redeemed against the following supermarkets: Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Waitrose, M&S Food, Aldi and McColls' (including RS McColl's and Martin's). In order to ensure that eligible families receive their vouchers, it is important that the Academy has a working email address for you. Staff are currently making contact via telephone to ensure that we have updated contact details for all eligible families. Next week a test email will be sent to the email address, please respond to this email to confirm that you have received the message. Families who we do not hold a current email address for or who do not respond to the test email will be contacted again by telephone to ensure that we have the correct details.

If you have any queries concerning any of the above, please contact the Academy by telephone on 01472 500 505, or via email to
