A record number of prospective students and parents visited Tollbar MAT Sixth Form College for its Autumn Open Evening.
The college is celebrating its largest ever intake this term, with 199 students having joined Year 12 to study academic A Levels. Almost half of these now come from schools outside of Tollbar Multi Academy Trust, reflecting the college's broad appeal to students wishing to study qualifications that will help them to achieve places on prestigious university courses or in high-quality apprenticeships.
Richard Foster, Deputy Head of Sixth Form, said: "Once again we were delighted to welcome so many prospective students and their parents to our Open Evening. A record number of guests joined us to get a feel for life at our Sixth Form College, taking the opportunity to discuss A Level options with our specialist teachers, view our outstanding facilities and chat with Year 12 and 13 students about their experiences studying with us."
Aidan Harris (15) from Louth Academy, visited the Open Evening. He said: "I'm impressed with the broad range of subjects. There is more variety than I'm used to."
Dimitri Constantopoulos (15), from Tollbar Academy, said: "I like the high standard of teaching here and also the online resources available to me."
Richard Foster continued: "As ever, the evening was made special by the contributions of our students, over 70 of whom volunteered to represent the college and its faculties, acting as guides and advocates to make our guests feel very welcome. We are very proud of them."
